Al Qaeda's war against Christians

A Nov 5, 2010 video report from Jamal Dajani at Mosaic Intelligence Report.

Al-Qaeda issues a threat against Christians. Dozens of Iraqi worshippers are killed in a church in Baghdad. Will the ethnic strife in Iraq expand to include Christians? Who is driving this wedge?

After bombing, Iraqis direct anger at police

BAGHDAD — Anger at Iraq’s security forces boiled over Thursday after a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb beside an outdoor funeral service, killing dozens, and residents stormed into the street, some firing warning shots at the police they said had failed to protect them.

Iraqi army troops rushed to the scene to support the police, leading to a lull in the violence. But the crowd erupted again shortly afterward, with more people flooding the street, throwing rocks and bottles at security forces.

The mini revolt was eventually quelled, with the military imposing a curfew to stop further demonstrations.

The neighborhood where the bombing took place, Shula, is a former hotbed of sectarian violence and stronghold of the Mahdi Army, the militia loyal to the anti-American cleric Moktada al-Sadr.

Unrest also shook the disputed northern region of Kirkuk, where protests broke out in three cities over the lack of electricity, echoing demonstrations in the south last summer, which the government eventually banned.

If the cities begin to burn tonight, January 28th, 2011, it will have been 1490 days since the execution of Saddam Hussein.

The message in the number of the days is this -- (1) God, (4) flesh, (9) judgment, (0) desolation.

"God (will all) flesh judge (to) desolation."

Just as the prophecy of Jeremiah decrees:

"Because of the indignation of the LORD (Chaldea) will not be inhabited, but she will be completely desolate... For this is the vengeance of the LORD... Pile her up like (ruins) and utterly destroy her; let nothing be left in her... I shall punish you... And I shall set fire to (your) cities and it will devour all (your) environs... No man will live there, nor will any son of man reside in it... For her judgment has reached to heaven and towers up to the very skies... For it is the vengeance of the LORD... All mankind is stupid, devoid of knowledge... In the time of their punishment they will perish... You will be desolate forever... For the purposes of the LORD against Babylon stand: to make the land of Babylon a desolation without inhabitants... Their dwelling places (shall be) set on fire..." Jer 50:13,15,26,32,40; 51:9,11, 17-18,26,29-30.

BAGHDAD — Suicide bombers launched a series of deadly assaults on Thursday against pilgrims marching toward a shrine sacred to Shiite Muslims, the police said, and dozens were killed in a third straight day of attacks against an array of targets.

The pilgrimage, which was banned under Saddam Hussein, is expected to draw as many as 10 million people to the city of Karbala over a period of 10 days, and has been an annual flash point for sectarian violence. Until this week the holiday had been free of major bloodshed, and Iraqi security forces had claimed progress in their abilities to protect the populace from violent extremist groups.
